Community Health Needs Assessment 2013

Summa Health System partnered with Akron Children’s Hospital and Akron General Health System to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).  During the CHNA process, epidemiologic data were reviewed and input was obtained from community leaders and community residents.  All of this information was used to develop a list of prioritized health needs in our community.

Each collaborating partner has issued a separate CHNA report and set of implementation strategies specific to each System’s hospital facilities covered by the collaborative analysis.  The purpose of this CHNA is to improve the health of our community. The information presented in this report will also act as a resource for other community groups working toward improving the health of the community.  In addition, this report will fulfill the CHNA requirements established by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for the hospital facilities listed.
