Mission/Vision

The Summa Foundation supports patient care, medical education and research through philanthropy.

The mission of the Summa Foundation is to support the goals and objectives of Summa Health System in the areas of research, medical education and special programs.

The foundation was originally incorporated to improve the management of assets, and to provide a better vehicle for fund raising and grant review. That work continues today. Through the years, funds raised by the foundation have supported research, physician and nursing education, medical equipment, patient education programs, and much more.

Philanthropic funds are crucial to the future of healthcare in this community. The support we receive allows us to pursue innovative medical research that leads to life saving technologies. It means Summa Health System can continue to provide the best possible patient care. This is what makes us a leader in the healthcare industry.
 
As a nonprofit organization, we do not distribute year-end profits to shareholders. Our profits are turned back into our organization allowing us to expand our capabilities, grow our knowledge and build on our strengths. Your help is always appreciated.
